Let us listen to the grandeur, silence, and tranquility of the mountains.
Koshi Mountain is the new “Earth Symphony” collection’s air bell, inspired by the grandeur, strength, and boundless space of the mountains. This subtle yet expressive musical instrument invites you to pause, calm down, and immerse yourself in a deep harmony of sounds.
The bell body is made of natural walnut wood, and inside it are attached twelve hand-matched metal rods. Four of them are duplicated—tuned to the same frequencies and acting as resonant rods. This design gives the sound more depth, richness, longer resonance, and more overtones.
Melody and sound
Koshi Mountain is tuned to a frequency of 440 Hz, and its melody belongs to the E major scale (E major). Bell notes: E, E, G#, G#, A, A, B, B, E, G#, A, B. Its sound is broad, deep, and contemplative, reminiscent of the grandeur and stability of mountains.
How to play Koshi bell?
Hold the bell by the string, let it hang freely, and gently twist your wrist. The hammer inside, by touching the metal rods, will produce a harmonious melody of intertwined sounds. Gently rocking the bell back and forth can produce individual notes, and hanging it in the right spot will create the melody along with the natural movement of the wind.
Application in
sound practices Koshi Mountain is perfect for meditation, sound therapy, sound yoga, and various relaxation practices. Its sound can begin or end meditation, complement the sounds of singing bowls, gongs, and other musical instruments, or subtly change the rhythm of a sound session.
“Earth Symphony” collection
Mountain is one of the four melodies in the “Earth Symphony” collection. Together with the Forest, River, and Ocean bells, it creates a seamless musical harmony. All four bells can be played separately or together, as their melodies are specially designed to harmonize with each other.
Handmade Production
Each Koshi bell is handmade in France, at the foothills of the Pyrenees. Twelve silver steel rods are attached to a metal base and carefully matched one by one. A wooden resonant body amplifies vibrations and adds warmth to the sound. The bell hammer is made of brass and coconut shell. No plastic is used in production.
