Tingshas

Tingsha (tingsha) is a musical instrument made of bell alloy that originated in Tibet

The name “tingsha” comes from two syllables in Tibetan – “ting” is the sound created by bells, and “sha” means “hang”. Tingša resembles two bells connected to each other, these are two metal floppy disks connected by a leather cord. This musical instrument is special for its transparent, bright sound, which is obtained by ringing one bell to another. Tingshas are used during certain rituals, such as those in which food is sacrificed or prayers to “hungry spirits”. It stems from the tradition of worship of Hindu ancestors. Stinging is also used for meditation. It is said that their sound cleanses the spirit and mind from all thoughts during meditation and helps to return to oneself after meditation. You will surely see this instrument in every Tibetan temple or any Buddhist temple.

We have a variety of Tingšai in our store – from completely without any pictures to fully carved products. For you, we select the best sounding Tingsch, not according to the picture. If you can let us know what you would like after you have made your order, we will try to take it into account.
Quality Tingša must match well, which means that both bells must sound the same, or at least very similar, in this way the bells sound harmonious and do not cause disharmony. Nowadays most of the Tingša are produced in India or Nepal and due to the large volumes they are very rarely compatible properly, so when buying Tingša online you don’t really know what you can get, BUT if you buy Tingša in our online store we select the best sounding and matching Tingša for you.

We postpone the incompatible Tingsch, we already sell them as secondary, they are not suitable for ceremonies and practices, but they can be used perfectly as a sound effect during your Sound Sessions.

If you have any special requests, we will always take them into account. We always encourage you to contact us if you can’t find what you want, maybe we will be able to meet your needs even though you can’t find it on our page!

The price of the sticks starts from 27 euros. We send orders not only to Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, but also all over Lithuania and the world.
